First Half April

I'm really back now!

Sorry for the delays and stuff. It's almost a month now. I think I'm changing back my style of blogging again.

First of all, I'm glad that my April fools joke was effective. Very indeed I shall say! It goes like this,

Jon : Eh! You know what? I've got bad news for you. My bad news actually. I have to stop my course/studies...

Responder : (its either) Har? How come?? (or) What?? (or Complete ignored and continue-ing his/her subject)

Jon : What to do? (sighed) Parents can't afford. I think I just have to stop studying and go out to work...

Responder : (its either Trying to solve) Thought your parents doing okay? (or) Har? Really ah?

Jon : (Sighed) Ya, think this is my last semester and that's it...(Rachel's case) and No more "Hi Jon" or "Hi Rachel" or "It's a Disaster" in college anymore

Responder : (Light bulb!) What about PTPTN?

Jon : (Sighed) Cannot la~

Responder : (Curious) Why?

Jon : Cause I don't meet the criteria to apply

Responder : (Confuse) What criteria then?

Jon : April Fools criteria, you know?

Responder : (Blur and continue) How else... (or) SHIT!! (or) What the F*ck! (or Rachel's case) MANGKUK LA U!!...

I totally had fun that day. I thought of fooling Audrey but the trick is up the sleeve! I decided to fool her during the end of the day which is an hour before it ends. Conclusion? She fell into it and as usual, people thought no one would joke during the last hour! That's me! (Interior Behavior Studies Course, rite...)

Moving on to the first and last site visit for the month. Royal Selangor Visitors Centre and Rimbun Dahan.

Royal Selangor is famous for their pewter. Yep, it is Internationally famous for that name and of course, they sells pewter! It is the name of "pewter" in Malaysia. The visitors centre is famously known to architecture language as Steven Holl's 5 senses. Touch, Smell, Hear, Taste and Sight are all involved here.

Oh do trust me, I've seen alot during this trip. For example the picture shown below,

(Sorry for the picture quality, was tired)

As you observe, you may see a bunch of people acting like a bunch of kids that are not shy to try things out. In fact it is way beyond shy till acting tremendously "wild" no matter the item is fragile not.

Anyways, the centre is open for public (trying not to mention lot about it instead YOU experience it!~) and it is located in Wangsa Maju (actually Genting klang Setapak, near Air Panas) Do visit there some day when you're too freaking free~

Rimbun Dahan, an architect's house. A lot people might say 'Ooo, Architect's house eh? Must be grand and superb'. Sorry to dissapoint but it is not as superb as you think it is. Simple lifestyle, I would suggest for an architect's house due to brain cracking situations and stressing events.

Who is the architect? Hijjas Kasturi. Who is he? His the one who designed Telecom tower. What so good about him? I absolutely got no idea but I like some of his works. This house resides in the middle of a jungle (Many many many trees). The 'jungle' is a very huge compound.

The house, is a set of triangular and there isn't anything special about the house though. I mean, it's just a house!

There is a step path down the row of waterfall splashing downwards to the pond and crossroad across the humongous pond.

After so, you'll come to an end of ground where you shall see a swimming pool next to the river.

(So proud of this photo ;p)

Anyways, there is a few sets of designers chairs to be found like Philip Starks chair, Mies Van Der Rohe's Cushion chair sets and the famous De Stilj chair and I sat on them! That is what I'm proud of.

There is something that pleased me, that is a gallery to be found underground basement and the residency program.

They sponsors artist to produce artworks and paintings to stay in their resident compound with a monthly allowance of RM2k per month for 4 months. Like said, a place to stay is provided and with that allowance is considered good for an artist to produce their own artwork with materials sponsored too! They invites foreign artist and some local artist to participate in the program. It is to be told that Australian artist has their countries full support with sponsorship on producing artwork and with no return to the country but instead they can sell their artwork and to earn too!

Shucks...Malaysia we're to speak of...Sigh..

Hijjas has many vintage car collections and there is a building solely for those cars to be exhibited. Even the wife drives a vintage Volkswagen.

The trip was toured by Angela Hajjis, the wife of Hijjas Kasturi. An artist herself and there she toured us around with alot of explanations on art. I learnt alot especially during the debate in the refurbished Perak Malay Traditional House. That I shall discuss about it later. Anyways, Rimbun Dahan is open to public (yes, their house compound) and there is a special week in May, not sure when though, will be exhibiting some art in the gallery. For more information, do check it out in their website, http://www.rimbundahan.org/home.html

This is the day where I went PcFair....etc (not telling Xp).
