Thursday Night!

It seems it is a bloggers habit. Most would post a picture of the destination they are heading. Yeah as shown. Penang is the destination. It can be said as a company trip but I prefer it to be department trip. They called it ‘PIG’. Okay not them, just me or maybe it is being called like that? What’s that you would ask. PIG stands for Penang Illegal Gathering. Funny word. Well it would be a 2 days 1 night trip as they wouldn’t want to cause trouble for the company for getting leaves or MC’s or maybe EL (Emergency Leave). Sooo many leaves huh? The day would be on 30th June to 1st July. Looking forward. Aiks~

Dinner Shanghai
Today happened something unexpected. Dinner with Air Asia’s sales marketing person. From what he said, it sounds like a fantastic job but the requirements sounded very tiring. One should be able to multi task. Sounds like core 2 duo processor to me. Ha ha but the staff benefit isn’t bad as well. Owning 6 free air tickets for a year. No limits for destination and dates. Sounds cool. But obviously if you travel, you need money to spend ^^ Not just that! When you ran out of the 6 free tickets, you can purchase for 75% discount off for each air ticket! MY GOD! Sounds tempting! Haha anyways, he started questioning around asking who’s doing what. There is only ‘mom’(Carmen), ‘dad’(Yk), me and him! Something like who’s doing what? Who’s head? Haha it’s easy to tell him that. I’m under Carmen, Carmen is under Yk! By the way, I think I’m not suppose to be there anyways because this guy is suppose to have dinner with the boss but unfortunately the boss isn’t free, so she asked Yk to bring him for dinner. It’s a sad thing to say that me and mommy Carmen tag along. Haha isn’t that sad I think? He also started to ask how long each of us had been working for Hotemart. Yeap, Yk 10 years, Carmen Mommy 2/1 years. When it comes to me, I’m sort of guilty to tell him that I have been working for only 2 months whereby it’s going to end by next Monday but I didn’t tell him that. Just two months I answered him. Hope he didn’t know I’m a temp staff though because I am afraid he would bother much that a dinner bringing a temp staff to a company to company discussion dinner. Or maybe I think too much. Anyways, had our dinner at Avenue K’s shanghai restaurant. The Durian Buns are GREAT and FANTASTIC! You should try it! Yeah! I meant you! haha By the way, the dinner ended at 2000hrs Kul Time. Guess what time i arrive home? 2115hrs! Because of Rapid~ *Peace Out!*

Rapid? Right~

How do you define the word ‘Rapid’? What reminds you of the word ‘Rapid’? Of course for most KL people, this word reminds them of the public transport. Especially Buses that we hated the most. It started with ‘Isn’t So Bad’ then continues with ‘It Sucked!’. Yeah, they introduced the brand new image of buses. It is colourful and it’s a fresh idea. Not to forget the idea of reusing the ticket for the whole day trip and to attract passengers to insist taking Rapid KL buses instead of other buses to cut down daily expenses. At first it was cool but now it really sucked due to their arrival timing. Imagine you are sitting in the bus and you are late for something hoping to arrive destination by time whereby the bus is stop at the main station and the bus driver sort of relaxing outside the bus. Let me guess what you will be thinking by then, you would be cursing the bus driver also the bus company. Ha ha. Am I right? It’s not a wrong thing the bus driver relaxing at the main station, after all he is still a human where there is limits for everything. According the bus schedule, buses are available for every 15 minutes. I think the plan is perfect, bus drivers rest for 15minutes then they continue their journey. But what is happening now is I waited for nearly an hour! No buses appears! I’m sooo late for work. Thanks to ‘rapid’. So called Rapid. If there is a chance not to take rapidkl, I would be glad! That’s for today. Just to comment about it. Hope you agree with me too! Haha or maybe you can launch a complaint for me~ as a favour. Thanks ^^ Signing out~

Exhibition Camp
It started with frustration. Its 9.30p.m! Still not moving yet. By the time I reached there, Zhen Sern was there. As soon as I get down the car, I already expected he would complain and nag about no one arrive yet and he had waited for 1 hour and half. As he said he would complain about it when everyone arrives. He did and I got the scolding for nothing although I did inform her, Mahani and other attendants that I will be late. Anyways, I wouldn’t care much as I had done what I am supposed to do. Friday night fever turns to Friday night suffer. You wouldn’t know how suffering the night was. It was boring and tired (gained from work – Arab Booking, will talk about it) not to forget, sleepy. The night started with juniors plan their campsite and gadgets. While the seniors help out in a kind of way. Then it all flushed as droplets of rains began to drip. Everyone ended up sitting under the shelter, began to make gadgets. Interestingly, the shoe rack they created looks funny. Then it was 0330. They started to nag about being hungry. Mahani went out to get food, what else? Mamak’s maggi goreng. After her departure, all of them started to fall asleep including me. The next thing comes to my consciousness, its 0530. Tried my best to wake them up but I failed and at the end, I fell asleep too. Next was 0600 and thank god that I managed to wake everyone up. They started to clean up all the mess and went for wash up. Everything done by 0700 and ended up in scout room ‘lepak-ing’ until around 0800. They started to bring out the tables and create a counter for parents to come by. After that…I ended up writing this. Confused? I left after that for work.

Mumbai, 22nd June 2007
It’s a headache case. Guest would be checking in on 23rd June 2007 which is today. I sent the mail to Mumbai supplier, Mr Deepak. But surprisingly, the mail I received is from Rajesh. Not sure is he new but the rates he replied me are incorrect. Usually when rates are wrong meant they aren’t sure about our contract rates and also when an email with rates is already proven booking confirmed. Unfortunately, I have to call him during my lunch hour and got hold on the phone for quite a long time. At the end, yeah they got the rates wrong and he requested me to send him a guarantee ( Full payment, confirmed going. Any cancellation, shorten stay, no show and amendment will be liable to charges ). After I got the email regarding the rates, I informed the guest that rooms are Guarantee arrival and I quickly send a guarantee email to Rajesh. Soon, a replied email from Rajesh stating that hotel is fully booked. Very pissed at that moment, called him up and yelled at the phone not to forget that I passed the phone to the superior. At the end, I decided to call Deepak. He managed to get rooms for me and of course he sounded humble than before. I also heard him scolding Rajesh while I put him on hold. Ha ha very happy but tired after the incident. Really made me worried for nothing.

My Story

My Story
Time flies like a roll of film. Every moment of memories pass by just like a single snap. Yep, it is easy to snap your fingers. Same goes for time. For all these while, I had been disappeared. No blog updates, no new pictures. It’s funny to tell you that no matter what reasons I say, it is still an excuse. Lazy would be the word.

After SPM
After my SPM, I’ve applied for a few jobs which ended up me choosing the job and not the job choose me. There is a desired job I always wanted unfortunately happens to be ‘job choose me’. It’s a high pay job and I’ve been looking forward working for them since my form 5. Straight after SPM, I applied for the job and the receptionist said wait for the call and that was December 2006. Sigh; kindly please be informed that today is 22nd June 2007. Wanna know what happened? I went for an interview in Madam Kwan which pisses me off also caused me to dislike and hated that restaurant. The day followed by Sony Style. The interview is kind of interesting, fun and relaxing. I still remember her name and of course, they rang me up the following day and told me to start work on 7th January which is fine with me better than sitting at home doing nothing watching the day flies by.

Sony Time
The whole period working with SONY is fun. Talking to customers, sharing thoughts and of course, quarrel with them (Those who think they are right but they are wrong). This is the so called ‘Sony Style Experience’ quoted by the management. At some point, I still think that they attempt to brain wash us and hypnotize us stating ‘Sony Is COOL!’ which I think they have accomplished this mission. Take me for example, almost everything is SONY. ‘Pride Of Ownership’ or ‘Like.No.Other’ these are the words of wisdom quoted by the management and during training sessions. Unfortunately, WE (The labeled workers, part-timers) are not grateful with the creation of ‘Word of Wisdom’. We always tease around and misinterpret the word with our creative and genius ideas. Not to forget that it is also a back up word upon collection for ‘Voice Of Customers’. Being a Sony Styler, the cons are No discounts, No pay for early arrival and charges for late arrival. Would you like to know about the charges? Let me tell you, Late a minute, half an-hour pay gone hence late an hour, vanish 2 hours pay. Isn’t it a perfect plan? Ok, Enough about cons. What about the pros? A bunch of Sony dinners, Premium goods, Incentives and Lee Hom tickets. Not to forget about the back stabbers. You wouldn’t enjoy working there even if the pay is high. Trust me.

Sony Like.No.Other
Mid April 2007. A colleague of mine resigned. The reason written in the letter was ‘explore different job field’ but the truth was she can’t stand it anymore. Sony once had 2 different batches of part timers. Since then, no more batches was formed. What I meant by ‘batch’ is that a time where a group of part timers started the work at the same time not knowing each other before and became friends during the working period. Of course, there would be after work ‘batch activities’ just like normal group hang outs. According to seniors, very seldom a batch were formed. Each workers mind their own business. For this batch is different, a unity existed in the batch. It all started during January when we just joined Sony. The first training was held by Cindy. A great trainer which I don’t understand why ‘backstabber’ replaced her later. Plus the ‘backstabber’ isn’t a very good presenter anyways. No charisma points. Back to the point, What Cindy did was ‘shoo’ all seniors out of the room and we’re the only ones left. She started with getting close with us. Asking what we think and also interactive activities among us. There is Ray, Shu Ying, Victor, Joshua and Me. Soon, a new part timer comes in, Chris. All of us work together, had fun together.

Resignation
Later, Ray resigned. Left the 5 of us. Along the way, comes a new part timer then it left few days later. Compare to us, I think we’re kinda strong in a way whereby we could survive this long. Sounds like it is a daily tough life. I have to agree with that. Back to the main point. ‘I’m tired of working with ‘Sony’ appeared in my mind. Soon, I turn in my letter of resignation. The letter was simple and straight forward as I didn’t state my reason. The first thing manager asked me was ‘Why? May I know what is the reason?’ I gave him my answer after a short pause with my mind questioning should I tell him? ‘Management Problem’. Yeah that was my answer which is the MOST honest answer I gave. Since that moment, I know I am screwed for the next two weeks. Soon, everyone knows about my resignation as well the reason although I keep it low profile. As I know, there some innocent seniors. They questioned my why I said that whereby I didn’t meant them. Hope they understand. Days after my resignation, they held a meeting on this matter. The outcome was a happy ending where the evil ones receive justice! Wakakakaka sounds like they got fired. Nope, they got scolding and a bunch of rules were created.

Reliance Travel Where Operations Begins
She got offered for two jobs. She can only choose one job. The job with the lower pay of what she thinks she would learn a lot from that job. Another one she suggested me to attend the interview. The interview sucked but I got the job. No idea why, but the interviewer blew me a cold wind. My job, a replacer for this lady who is going for her maternity leave. My job is kind of complicated. http://www.pyotravel.com/ and http://asia.hotemart.com/. These are the websites I’m going to lay my eyes on at all times. When you proceed a booking, the booking reservation will drop to my stations. Each locations got their own stations while mine includes, Europe, U.S, 70% of China, 60% of Japan, Indonesia, India, 50% of Philippines, New Zealand, Cambodia, Korea, Laos, South Africa, Brunei, Egypt, Mauritius, Sri Lanka and Canada. Normal working hours, 9a.m – 6p.m weekdays, and alternate Saturdays. Compare to Sony, I have to work shifts, and it is either 9a.m - 6p.m or 1p.m – 10p.m. Break Time would be an hour but for my current job, my lunch time is from 12p.m - 2p.m. It’s gonna end soon as my contract ends at 30th June. And of course, college years, here I come! 6th July… Looking forward.
